Curiosity Guide Job Description
Wage: $13/hour
Shift: Part time. Mostly mornings shifts. Minimum of 15 hours per week. May include Saturdays, holidays, and evening shifts.

Summary: As one of our awesome Curiosity Guides, you will engage with community members in Thanksgiving Point’s exiting programs and classes. We have the opportunity to engage with community members on the daily, cultivating curiosity and guiding individuals through a transformative learning experience. If you enjoy facilitating, interacting with kids of all ages, finding creative and engaging ways to teach STEM, bringing the joy of learning to life, and being a part of an incredible non-profit mission- then you will love working as a Curiosity Guide!
Responsibilities:
- Participate in, prepare for, and lead educational programs in a variety of onsite, school outreach and community outreach settings.
- Guide program participants in activities to help build confidence, curiosity and compassion.
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment where all guests feel welcome, meaningful experiences naturally happen, and where multiple ideas are valued and explored.
- Model and foster curiosity and inquiry learning skills, like questioning, exploring, testing, refining, and explaining in all interactions with guests.
- Collaborate with other Learning and Engagement staff to develop, evaluate, educate, and refine facilitated and unfacilitated learning experiences.
- Evaluate participant experiences using appropriate tools and methodologies.

Requirements:
- Experience teaching or facilitating in formal or informal learning environments.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative workplace, to give and receive constructive feedback, work patiently in high-activity, high-energy, noisy environments.
- Experience working with learners of different ages and abilities is preferred.
- Physical ability to climb stairs, bend, stand for extended periods, and manipulate small objects.
- Capability to work around and with animals, insects, and in outdoor settings
- Able to work independently and responsibly
- Have exceptional time management skills, able to be punctual and utilize time efficiently
- Valid Utah Driver’s License and pass an MVR.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a background check.
