Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodial Worker to join our team and work at Auburn High School. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities. This position requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, and welcoming for both employees and visitors. The Custodial worker will be responsible for various tasks related to cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of the premises.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Carry out floor care tasks such as buffing, waxing, and polishing surfaces as needed.
- Assist with residential painting and other minor maintenance tasks as required.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts effectively throughout the facility.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any shortages or needs to management.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is used safely and maintained in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support overall facility maintenance efforts.
Experience
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices and facilities maintenance is a plus.
- Skills in floor care techniques such as buffing and waxing are advantageous.
- Experience as a porter or in related roles will be considered an asset.
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards is essential.
