POSITION: Custodian
Job Summary
The Custodian performs a variety of duties designed to keep the building and premises in a clean, orderly and well-maintained condition.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of previous custodial experience preferred.
- Should have knowledge and skill in the use of cleaning chemicals, the use of floor machines for cleaning, and the use of hand tools for basic maintenance tasks.
- Must have the reading ability and verbal and written communication skills required to receive and provide information regarding job tasks, instructions, and report to supervisors.
- Must be able to perform basic arithmetic to determine the amounts needed of supplies.
- Must be able to work nonstandard hours to assist with special events when required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean campus buildings and facilities.
- Maintain and restock building supplies such as toilet paper and soap in restrooms.
- Maintain custodial supplies and equipment, and inform management when supplies need to be ordered.
- Assist with special events, including setting up and breaking down.
- In order to perform these essential functions, the Custodian must be present at work. Therefore, attendance is an essential function.
SALARY: Appropriate placement on State Salary Schedule L at $15.00 per hour.
