Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Art Framer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art and craftsmanship, with the ability to create high-quality frames that enhance the presentation of artwork. This role requires proficiency in various framing techniques and the use of hand tools, as well as an understanding of materials and design principles.
Duties
- Assemble custom frames using various materials, including wood, metal, and acrylic.
- Interpret schematics and design specifications to create frames that meet client requirements.
- Perform installation of framed artwork in residential and commercial spaces.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing frame components.
- Ensure precision in plumb and level installations for optimal presentation.
- Collaborate with artists and clients to understand their vision and provide expert recommendations on framing options.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety standards while operating equipment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques in art framing.
Requirements
- Proven experience in frame carpentry or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with masonry and concrete forming techniques is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools for assembly and installation tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work consistently.
- Knowledge of plastering techniques may be beneficial for certain projects.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- A creative mindset with an eye for design aesthetics is highly valued.
