Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while providing exceptional service. This role involves driving various types of buses, including school buses and paratransit vehicles, while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. The Bus Driver will play a vital role in transporting children to their destinations safely and efficiently.
Duties
- Operate buses in a safe and efficient manner, following designated routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by conducting pre-trip inspections and maintaining the vehicle in good working order.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting from the bus, providing support as needed, especially for children
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch regarding any delays or issues encountered during routes.
- Enforce behavior management policies to ensure a safe environment for all passengers.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Keep accurate records of daily activities, including passenger counts and incidents.
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English
- Experience with children
- Transportation course with DCF
- Physical from your physician
- CPR-certified
- Level 2 background screening
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks is beneficial.
- Customer service skills to interact positively with passengers and address their needs effectively.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor in various situations.
- Teaching skills may be advantageous for educating younger passengers about safety protocols.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $24.93 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
