Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and box trucks, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Navigate routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers to confirm delivery details and provide updates as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking shipments and obtaining signatures upon receipt..
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation of delivery vehicles.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients.
- Proficiency in operating various types of vehicles, including vans and box trucks; commercial driving experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks as required during deliveries or warehouse duties.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and equipment, including forklifts, is advantageous.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate record keeping and adherence to delivery schedules.
