Dental Assistant
Position Summary:

Our dental practice’s patients consist primarily of pediatrics therefore we are seeking a Dental Assistant who enjoys working with children.
SFD is seeking a Dental Assistant for an immediate full-time position for the office in Ellijay, GA. Enjoy a life-work balanced schedule of four days per week, Monday - Thursday 7:30a-5:30p, giving you a long weekend every weekend!
Responsibilities:
- Greet and guide patients to the exam room
- Verify patient medical history and update as needed
- Provide dental education to increase awareness of proper oral hygiene
- Communicate clearly, keeping patients informed about their treatment
- Provide post-operative care instructions
- Set up and prepare patient treatment rooms
- Provide chair side assistance to doctors and hygienists during clinical procedures and treatment
- Chart doctor’s observations and recommended treatment during oral exams
- Collaborate with dental team to coordinate patient treatment plans and future appointments
- Sterilize instruments using autoclave and statim
- Inventory supplies and equipment
- Clean and sanitize dental machines such as autoclave, x-ray unit, and dental rooms
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior pediatric dental experience ideally using Dentrix software preferred
- Expanded Duties certification and X-ray certification are preferred
- Current PALS/BLS
- Ability to speak Spanish strongly desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Satisfactory background check and drug test required.
Environmental/Occupational Exposure:
- Exposure to blood and body fluids, hazardous material and communicable disease.
- Appropriate protective equipment will be readily available and provided.
Physical Demands:
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment, spending 95% or more of time inside. Lifting up to 40 lbs and carrying some objects up to 25 lbs.
