Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office, assisting both the dentist and patients during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are prepared and sterilized.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for patient management and record keeping.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene care and post-operative instructions.
- Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients.
- Assist with prosthodontics procedures as required.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with general dentistry practices; experience in pediatrics or pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Proficiency in using 3D scanners for dental imaging is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is desirable.
- Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
- Must be able to pass any required background checks related to healthcare positions.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.45 per hour
Expected hours: 26 – 40 per week
