Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize Dental software for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and billing processes.
- Operate 3D scanners to capture accurate dental impressions as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Ensure the dental clinic is clean, organized, and adheres to infection control protocols.
- Assist with inventory management of dental supplies and equipment.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation practices is essential.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are crucial for success in this role.
- A passion for providing excellent patient care and maintaining high standards of professionalism in the dental clinic environment is required.
