Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during procedures. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of dental terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop X-rays as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilize 3D scanners for capturing accurate dental impressions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient files using software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Record vital signs and update patient information prior to appointments.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient communications, acting as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dental workspace, adhering to infection control protocols.
Skills
- Proficient in dental terminology and procedures.
- Experience with medical coding is a plus.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Capability to assist in various dental procedures with confidence and professionalism.
