Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our close knot family oriented dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. A strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures is essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and various dental procedures, including chairside assisting.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Stay informed about advancements in dental technology, including 3D scanners.
Skills
- Proficient in using Dentrix for managing patient information.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding.
- Experience in four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient chairside assistance.
- Understanding of general dentistry practices, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Ability to perform medical imaging and maintain accurate medical records.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and infection control measures.
