Position Summary:
This dual-role team member is responsible for supporting the clinical team by assisting the dentist during procedures and ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient patient care environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Chairside Assistance:
- Prepare treatment rooms and assist the dentist during exams and procedures (e.g., passing instruments, suctioning, mixing materials)
- Greet and seat patients, ensuring comfort and readiness for treatment
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed
- Provide post-operative instructions and support patient education
- Document treatments and update patient records using dental software
- Take impressions, fabricate temporary crowns, and assist with lab work (as allowed by state regulations)
- Maintain proper inventory of dental materials and restock operatories
Sterilization & Infection Control:
- Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize all dental instruments using proper protocols
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (autoclave, ultrasonic cleaner) and maintain sterilization logs
- Ensure operatories are cleaned and turned over efficiently between patients
- Follow all OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA regulations for infection control and patient safety
- Maintain a clean, organized central sterilization area
- Conduct routine maintenance and quality checks on sterilization equipment

Qualifications:
- Completion of a Dental Assisting program or equivalent experience
- X-ray certification (as required by state law)
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and infection control procedures
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
