Job Overview
Our pediatric office is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the hygiene team in preventive care. This position requires an understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, dental radiography, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You must have excellent work ethics and be motivated to grow in a team environment, learn and have fun. You will work with an amazing team who provide the highest quality of clinical care and customer service for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist the hygienist and dentist during preventive care and examinations including charting and entering treatment needs.
- Take dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Follow all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information in electronic record.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Appointment scheduling .
Requirements
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and dental radiography techniques.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and their families.
- Understanding of documentation processes and electronic charting while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Certification in dental radiolography preferred.
- Aseptic technique knowledge is essential for maintaining a sterile environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 34 per week
