As a Design Consultant, you will be responsible for selling custom window treatments. Your work days will generally involve in-home consultations with prospective customers; driving a company vehicle; computer and phone work managing your sales pipeline; and interacting with other team members.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Design Consultant position requirements are as follows:
Duties:
- Complete 3 to 4 in-home consultations each day
- Offer exceptional customer service and expert design advice
- Advise clients on window covering alternatives, measure windows, promptly prepare proposals, close sales and collect deposits
- Discuss your job details with installers when necessary
- Respond promptly to customer communications
- Timely follow up on all leads and pending sales to closure
- Effectively communicate with support team to ensure smooth transition from order placement to product installation
- Establish and maintain working relationships with real estate professionals, builders and developers
- Generate sales leads through organic networking, canvassing, and marketing
- Other duties as they may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous sales experience required; window coverings sales experience strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Must be enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter and able to work independently
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
- Proficient use of a tape or laser measure
- Willingness to learn and follow a structured sales model
- Professional appearance
- Basic computer skills
- Driver’s license and an excellent driving record
- Able to lift samples up to 30 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Compensation: The initial 3-month training period will be hourly plus commission. Following the training period, the compensation will be a commission-only structure that will allow for significant income, depending on skill and time worked. A commission draw program is available to support consistent income during the seasonal business cycle.
Schedule: Monday to Friday; Saturdays on occasion

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
