Job Description
The Design Manager is a player/coach position, simultaneously leading and managing apparel product design for the Simms brand, as well as designing key products for the brand on a seasonal basis. The Design Manager is responsible for designing and managing all apparel designs on a seasonal basis to bring the brand vision to life while continuously pushing innovation, performance, and aesthetics.
This position reports to the VP, Head of Product and is based out of our Bozeman, MT office.
As the Design Manager you will have an opportunity to:
- Provide clear artistic vision and direction to the apparel design team, ensuring design solutions align with the overall brand strategy.
- Create and execute comprehensive design strategies aligned with business objectives, translating creative briefs into actionable design plans.
- Manage and mentor a small team of apprel designers, assigning tasks, providing feedback, and fostering a creative environment.
- Oversee all aspects of apparel design projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality standards are met and deadlines are adhered to.
- Collaborate with Brand leadership to understand their needs, present design concepts, and manage expectations throughout the design process.
- Develop and enforce brand guidelines to maintain a cohesive visual identity across all design elements.
- Staysabreast of emerging design trends and technologies to incorporate innovative ideas into projects.
You have:
- 5+ years experience in apparel design
- Proficient in various design disciplines including apparel product design, color and graphic design, and visual communication. Well versed in Adobe suite of design/ creative tools.
- Expertise in apparel design, seasonal color palette creation, & material/trim applications.
- Ability to inspire and guide a small design team, providing constructive feedback and fostering professional growth.
- Capability to translate business needs into effective design solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey design concepts to cross functional team mates and key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across different departments.

Pay Range:
Annual Salary: $72,000.00 - $125,000.00
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
