Celebrating our 30th year in 2026, CEF sharpened its focus in 2023 to center our mission on directly funding teachers. In addition to directly funding teachers through end of year appreciation gifts and Teacher of the Year cash awards, CEF also provides scholarships for teachers and paraprofessionals pursuing continued education.
Position Summary:
The Development Manager is an essential member of a small but dynamic team, responsible for expanding philanthropic support of Carroll ISD teachers through a variety of fundraising initiatives. These include the Annual Campaign, Culinary Celebration Gala, #GivingTuesday Telethon, Club Charlie, North Texas Giving Day, and 3rd party events benefiting the foundation.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives when working both independently and as part of team, brings a critical-thinking mindset to problem solving, and has a high level of initiative. This role requires strong communication and relationship-building skills, a cooperative team spirit, and a passion for the mission of CEF.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising (50%):
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to grow annual donations and sponsorships, with a focus on donors giving $7,500 and under.
- Represent CEF at community events to network and identify new donor prospects and business partners.
- Conduct regular donor meetings to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Collaborate with Board Members to identify new prospects through their networks.
- Manage the Silent Auction portion of the Culinary Celebration, including item procurement and coordination with the Auction Chair and Board Members.
- Assist in identifying potential major gift donors and making introductions when appropriate.
Program Management (30%):
- Help with planning and execution of fundraising events and campaign events in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Work with the Culinary Celebration Chef Chair to coordinate chef recruitment, engagement and event logistics.
- Assist with campaign content by gathering and organizing assets for social media and marketing initiatives.
Administrative (20%):
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the database.
- Generate reports and track donor activity for analysis and planning.
- Manage stewardship efforts, including donor recognition, benefits, and communications.
- Support the Executive Director and team with additional duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or sales.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven success in donor cultivation, relationship management, and stewardship.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive, .
- Comfortable working occasional evenings and weekends for events.
- Ability to lift up to 25-30 pounds at a time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing donor relationships in the Southlake or greater DFW community.
- Familiarity with Texas public school funding and budgeting or willingness to learn.
- Experience with donor database systems like DonorPerfect and Greater Giving.
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe, or other design tools.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000
- Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Hybrid work schedule based on organizational needs
- 3 weeks of PTO annually (vacation and sick time)
- Time off during all CISD student school holidays, except summer break, including but not limited to Spring Break, July 4th week, Thanksgiving, and Winter Break.
