Position: Development Officer

Purpose: The Development Officer will be working with the Catalpa Foundation. The Catalpa Foundation was established to ensure that every child in our community has access to the mental health care they need to thrive. We raise the necessary funds to empower Catalpa Health to provide life-changing mental health services to children and families in the Greater Fox Valley Region.

The Development Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing effective fundraising strategies to support the Catalpa Foundation’s mission. This role focuses on donor cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation, with a strong emphasis on mid-to-major level gifts and annual giving campaigns.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely, personal outreach to new and existing donors.
  • Host 1:1 meetings with mid- and major-level donors to cultivate relationships and, when appropriate, solicit gifts.
  • Plan and execute donor cultivation events, including small gatherings, site tours, and appreciation events.
  • Solicit event sponsorships and manage sponsorship fulfillment and stewardship.
  • Support annual giving initiatives, including donor segmentation, personalized outreach (calls, emails, and mailings), and campaign tracking.
  • Process and acknowledge gifts with timely and personalized receipts and thank-you communications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Manage stewardship projects under guidance of Executive Director to engage and retain donors at all giving levels.


Who Should Apply:
Well qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in non-profit management or related field and have at least 2 years of relevant experience in development/fundraising activities and donor relations are preferred. Strong candidates with have a proven track record of securing funding from various sources and have strong communication and relationship-building skills. The Development Officer position is best suited for someone who is passionate about fundraising, comfortable working with a variety of constituents and dedicated to help the Catalpa Foundation achieve it's mission.
