Instructor - Individualized 1:1 Services for Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Wage: $22/hour

Creative Support is a private, non-profit agency providing a variety of services, instruction, and support to adults with developmental disabilities to help them live as independently as possible, in homes and communities of their choice.
Summary
Provides instruction and support in participants’ homes, communities, &/or college campuses. Services focus on any/all of the following domains: ILS-Advocacy, Communication, Community Access, Meal Preparation, Health, Housekeeping, Interpersonal Skills, Menu Planning/Nutrition, Money Management, Personal Care, Independent Recreation, Home and Community Safety, Shopping, and Transportation. TDS- Academic Support, Time Management, Organizational and Study skills, Communication, Accessing Resources, etc. Many of our participants are very capable, but still need assistance with their daily living and/or collegiate endeavors.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Provide instruction/support with problem solving/life management issues
- Serve as a positive, healthy role model and promote a healthy lifestyle
- Assist participants with accessing benefits and generic resources
- Monitor participants’ safety, health, and medical needs
- Serve as liaison between the agency and: the participant, regional center, the participant’s parents/family, & other service providers
- Assist participants with the development of outcomes & write progress and annual reports
- Make recommendations to management for new services or to revise services as needed
Eligibility Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Related experience with adults with intellectual challenges preferred
- Willingness and ability to perform all essential job functions
- Proof of eligibility to work in USA
- If you drive/do not use alternative means of transportation, valid CA Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and acceptable California Driving Record
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to get prior to starting)
- Preferred but not required: completed or ongoing BA/BS or MA/MS in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or related field

- Discretion and tact in handling confidential and personal information
- Understanding of CS philosophy and full participation in carrying out CS’s mission
Physical Demands
- Must be able to see and observe participants, see and utilize a computer and other electronic devices, and see to navigate surroundings
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to speak clearly, hear, and smell
- Must be able to carry, push, or pull at least 15 pounds

Expected hours: 15 – 29 per week
