Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing high-quality food service in a supportive environment. The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in assisting with meal preparation and ensuring the dietary needs of residents are met in accordance with their health requirements. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for food service and want to contribute positively to the lives of others in an assisted living setting.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Ensure that all food items are prepared, cooked, and presented in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment, Washing dishes & pots and pans.
- Support the dietary department by managing inventory, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production processes.
- Help with meal planning and accommodate special dietary needs as directed by the dietitian or supervisor.
- Engage with residents during meal times to enhance their dining experience through friendly interaction.
Skills
- Experience in food preparation within the food industry, particularly in assisted living or healthcare settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and dietary practices related to dietetics is beneficial.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy meal periods.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Attention to detail, particularly regarding food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with meal preparation processes and food production methods is an asset.
