The Digital Imaging Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of digital printing machines and peripherals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs standard set-up and operation of black toner and color digital printing machines (may include USB duplicators, check printers, envelope printers and bindery equipment), producing the highest quality work, per KP and client specifications, in an efficient and well-organized manner.
- Outputs high level of quality printed goods and acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
- May operate more than one production machine simultaneously.
- Manages incoming and archived electronic print files and outputs to correct equipment controls.
- Performs set-up and electronic file adjustments for correct productions output.
- Completes preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machines, updates maintenance records.
- Produces and selects samples and proofs for customer’s review or internal review, as requested.
- Recommends measures to improve methods and efficiency of machines, procedures and department goals.
- May train team members on machines and processes as needed or requested.

Requirements

Education, Experience and Training (Knowledge):
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year related experience and accredited training in graphic arts, digital print machine operations and maintenance.
- Understanding of graphic art software applications helpful.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong verbal, written and listening skills; ability to read, understand and follow SOP’s, supervisor instructions and safety, security and quality procedures; clearly communicates detailed instructions.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and use self-management skills to plan, organize and prioritize work activities to use time efficiently.
- Ability to use sharp vision skills to control color and quality. Must be able to closely match color proofs as required.
- Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and thoroughness by carefully reviewing all work for completeness and correctness prior to submission or transition to downstream processes. Good interpersonal skills to get along and work effectively with others.
