We host 100+ boys and girls basketball events annually, including competitive camps for all ages, middle school and high school tournaments, and the top independent high school circuit in the country. Position Overview
We are seeking a data-driven Marketing Manager to lead and execute marketing strategies that drive event registration, audience engagement, and brand awareness for MADE Hoops. This role will be critical in shaping our brand narrative, attracting new participants, and continuing to strengthen our position as the premier grassroots basketball organization. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the youth sports landscape and its audience, a passion for basketball, and proven experience in developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns across various channels.
Responsibilities
Key/Core Functions:
- Develop and implement integrated marketing plans for all MADE Hoops events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and Content, to ensure cohesive and impactful marketing efforts.
- Identify target audiences and develop relative messaging to reach them effectively.
- Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive strategies to identify new opportunities and inform marketing decisions.
- Contribute to strategic planning to shape the long-term marketing vision.
Email/SMS Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Oversee and optimize Klaviyo to drive engagement and conversions through email and SMS marketing campaigns/flows.
- Develop compelling campaigns that highlight athlete development, exposure opportunities, event highlights, and success stories.
- Analyze Klaviyo metrics and generate insight reports to optimize future campaigns.
- Stay up-to-date with Klaviyo products/trends and implement new marketing tactics accordingly.
Digital Advertising / Paid Media:
- Create and execute digital advertising campaigns specifically designed to drive event registration and attendance, across all key MADE Hoops platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, X, etc.)
- Work closely with Sales Directors to promote events effectively, including schedule releases, team/player registration, and other crucial details.
- Collaborate with other business units to develop engaging ad creatives and video content suitable for all channels.
- Conduct audience research and testing to improve ad performance.
- Manage keyword research, bidding strategy, and ad copy.
- Optimize Google Shopping campaigns for eCommerce.
- Track KPIs such as CPA, ROAS, and CTR.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Utilize data, market insights, and marketing tools to develop and execute impactful, consumer-relevant strategic marketing recommendations.
- Track marketing budget and expenses, ensuring alignment with event budgets.
- Generate reports on campaign performance, highlighting key findings, ROI, and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, OR 5+ years of equivalent experience in brand, product, or event marketing, preferably within the sports industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful, data-driven marketing campaigns.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including email marketing (Klaviyo), digital advertising (Meta, Google & TikTok), and content marketing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making and reporting.
- Deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive strategies within the youth basketball landscape.
- Ability to integrate compelling storytelling into marketing campaigns.
- Proficiency with marketing software and analytics tools.
- Passion for basketball and youth development.
- Willingness to travel for events as required.
