Summary
As a Direct Care Worker at True Transitions, you will play an essential role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily activities. This position is vital to our mission of fostering independence and enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide direct support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Implement individualized care plans to meet the specific needs of each client.
- Monitor client behavior and report any changes or concerns to the supervisory staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Administer first aid as necessary and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Engage clients in recreational activities that promote social interaction and well-being.
Qualifications
DCW trained
- Experience in caregiving or direct support roles, preferably working with individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of memory care and dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and their families.
- Basic first aid certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to enhancing the lives of others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy.
