Direct Support Professional Job Description
Guardian Angels Supported Living, LLC is a family-oriented agency dedicated to providing quality care to all consumers. The DSP staff will work alone or with DSP staff members to assist consumers with all areas of daily living, community integration, transportation, and other daily routines.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have a clean background
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have own reliable transportation
- Must have current vehicle insurance
- Must have a working phone (message phone not acceptable)
- Must be willing to complete the following required training upon hire
- Relias Abuse and Neglect
- Infection Control
- Tools of Choice
- CPR/First Aid
- Level 1 Med Certification
Job Requirements:
- Assist with any activity of daily living as outlined in the consumers ISP or BSP
- Monitor consumers for safety
- Completion of shift summaries, MARS, incident reports and all other required documents
- Supervise and assist with meal preparation
- Provide input and feedback to program planning for creating or modification of ISP or BSP
- Assisting and teaching functional communication
- Implementation of behavior plan
- Attend house meetings and all other required trainings
- Report any concerns, issues or clarification needed to Primary Staff, Professional Manager or Director as needed or requested
- Provide community integration as requested or required
- Transport for shopping, appointments, and other activities
