Overview
We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Care Workers. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals in need. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
- Monitor and report changes in individual's health or behavior
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs
- Engage individuals in social and recreational activities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
Qualifications
- Experience working with people with autism, dementia, developmental disabilities, or in long-term care settings is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting if required
- Knowledge of caregiving principles and practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and compassion towards those in need
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certification in areas such as social work or home care is a plus
- Proficiency in patient monitoring techniques
