As a Direct Support Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, sen, requiring assistance with daily living activities. Duties
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as cleaning, day planning and meal preparation.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness in living areas by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client status to the appropriate personnel.
Skills
Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills:
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working in group homes or assisted living environments
- Strong patient observation skills for monitoring health conditions
- Proficiency in cleaning and maintaining a safe living space
- Knowledge of home & community care practices
- Experience assisting with ADLs and patient care
- Cooking skills for meal preparation tailored to dietary needs
- Familiarity with nursing home settings and long-term care experience
- Understanding of Alzheimer’s care, memory care, dementia care, and hospice care principles
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and families

Pay: $20.84 - $21.51 per hour
