Position Overview: Buckeyes Service is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes during the day. As a DSP, you will help individuals achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life by assisting with personal care, medication, and ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment. Training provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overnight supervision and support to individuals in a residential setting.
- Assist with personal care needs.
- Administer or assist with medication as needed.
- Monitor individuals throughout the night to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties and meal prep as necessary.
- Complete overnight documentation and incident reports in compliance with agency policies.
- Follow individualized care plans and behavior support strategies.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers, and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Schedule:
- Day hours- Typically 9a-2p with some flexibility.
- Part-time positions available, including weekends.
- Other shifts available including additional daytime and overnight hours (optional)
