Looking for DSP to work 12 hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, possibly Fridays
Direct Support Professional to provide care and supervision of 3 awesome high-functioning adult males in a residential home with Developmental Disabilities. Potential employees need to be motivated, efficient, and very proactive. Must be able to assist with medication, meal planning, cooking, light house keeping, cleaning skills, document daily notes, and good communication skills to engage consumers. We provide a family feel to our consumers, after all, this is their home. Must have: Strong interpersonal skills and passionate about helping those in need; Enjoy working with developmentally disabled individuals to improve their quality of life; Friendly disposition with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude; Comfortable working independently and can consistently make good judgments that benefit the client
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene, bathing and grooming if needed
- Assist with appointments and outings
- Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates
- Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment
- Report the development of individuals by observing and documenting consumer’s behaviors and daily living skills.
- Assisting client with self-administration of medications after proper training
- Documenting and reporting any changes in client's health status or condition
- Documenting daily notes
- Performing home management functions such as laundry and cleaning
- Planning meals, preparing and serving food/meals and clean-up
Required Qualifications
- *********DSP Year 1 and DSP 2 required, experience 1+ year working in Adult Residential Facility.
- CPI
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Physical, TB Test, and Covid Vaccination
- Must pass state background check
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.75 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
