Established in 1972, Floyd Training and Service Center provides supports for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our goal is to help people develop the skills needed to become independent, self-determining, and integrated into the community.
As a Community Instructor, you will be responsible for assisting people with making connections in their community and learn the skills needed to have meaningful experiences and relationships. Activities will focus on the person's needs, strengths, and interests, while supporting them to make decisions and advocate for themselves.
Responsibilities:
- Assist adults with disabilities with planning activities in their community that promote integration and meaningful relationships
- Provide supports that allow people to develop daily living skills, as well as personal skills
- Implement Individual Support Plans and their goals
- Maintain daily documentation on service delivery
- Communicate individual changes or needs to supervision in a timely manner
- Follow all state, federal, and agency regulations and policies
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 or older
- Be able to pass a Drug Screen and Background Check (Required)
- High School or Equivalent (Required)
- Driver's License (Required)
- 1 Year Experience with Developmental Disabilities (Preferred)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills (Preferred)
Schedule:
- Part Time, up to 30 hours
- Monday - Friday
