Centra has an opportunity for a Director Credit Solutions in Columbus, Indiana. The Director Credit Solutions is responsible for overseeing the collection of open delinquent consumer loans, credit card, and mortgage accounts. Reviews accounts to determine if repossession, charge off, or legal action is necessary. Prioritizes the team’s workload and ensures the team is keeping timely contact with delinquent Members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position may be required to perform additional duties as requested. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform.
- Reviews the progress of all past due accounts. Recommends action needed for accounts that are nonperforming. Advises collectors to initiate insurance claims through the Credit Union insurance provider. Researches Member accounts to assist staff with collateral protection insurance discrepancies.
- Oversees the repossession process. This includes coordinating the repossession assignment with third party agents, multi system processing, certified communication to borrower, collateral disposition, file insurance claims, and requesting warranty refunds from dealerships and third- party collection after sale.
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of the collections function of the Credit Solutions department. Supervisory duties include performance management, training, and development, and demonstrating and cultivating Centra’s Mission, Culture, and Core Values.
- Resolves Member conflict, communication, and research collection issues. Investigates and resolves complaints, disputes, and grievances on behalf of Centra.
- Conducts administrative duties for collection software and payment processing systems. This includes system updates, reports, updating collector communication methods, and creating and updating workflows to be processed. Reviews all files to be sent to third party collection vendor and update the core system once files are prepared.
- Prepares management reports for delinquency, ALLL (Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses) and collector production. Approves accounts to be recommended for charge off by the Board of Directors.
- Coordinates with Mortgage Servicing Department on reports and compliance for third party servicers.
- Assists in management of third-party vendor relationships, including for collections and recovery agents.
- Maintains ongoing communication with VP Credit Solutions and Loss Mitigation of pertinent problems, irregularities, new developments, changes and other important information within area of responsibility.
- Provides consultation and/or expert advice to management on all matters referenced above. Assists in driving organizational health and operational excellence by directing process improvements and steering cross-functional opportunities through involvement in company projects.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – (Equivalent combination of Education & Experience will be considered.)
- Bachelor's Degree in Related Field
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
