Director of Nursing – Labor and Delivery
Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: Full-time | Days | No Weekends
Salary: $130,000–$140,000 per year, based on experience
Sign-on Bonus: Up to $10,000

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (L&D) to oversee a busy Labor & Delivery department in a high-acuity hospital setting. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity to lead a team of over 140 staff members while managing a 40–50 bed L&D unit.
Responsibilities:
Directs daily operations of the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
Leads 24/7 operations, managing approximately 143 staff across multiple beds.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with staff while promoting accountability and performance.
Collaborates with physicians, administration, and other departments to drive outcomes in patient satisfaction, safety, and engagement.
Mentors and develops clinical leaders and fosters a culture of excellence.
Monitors staffing, budgets, and resource allocation to optimize patient care.
Implements evidence-based practices to maintain compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
BSN requiredRN license in the state of Texas or compact license
Minimum 5 years of acute care L&D RN experience
Minimum 2 years of management experience in L&D (Required)
Proven results in employee engagement and patient satisfaction
Experience with Studer culture and performance coaching is highly desirable
