Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Director of Operations include:
- Oversee and support the daily operations of the Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Maintenance departments
- Work closely with the General Manager to execute hotel-wide strategies and initiatives
- Ensure consistent high-quality guest service and operational excellence across departments
- Supervise and mentor department managers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Conduct routine inspections of rooms, public spaces, and facilities to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Assist in budget planning and cost control across departments
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and assist in implementing service improvement plans
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures
- Help manage inventory and departmental reporting
- Respond to operational issues, staffing needs, and guest concerns as they arise
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal Director of Operations candidate should have:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel operations or hospitality management experience
- Strong knowledge of front desk, housekeeping, and facility operations
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop a team
- A proactive, hands-on approach to solving problems and improving processes
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with hotel management systems (PMS, maintenance logs, etc.) preferred. Experience with Cloudbeds and Toast is a plus.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
