Matic Digital is a strategic and delivery studio that helps companies grow through brand, web, and product experiences.
We work with ambitious teams—from startups to enterprise orgs—delivering strategy, design, and engineering that create lasting value. Our work blends creative thinking with systems-level execution, and we’re building toward a future where flexible talent, smart tools, and scalable solutions power how modern brands evolve.
We’re looking for a Director of Operations & Revenue to help us scale smartly—building the right systems, driving operational clarity, and ensuring we align our delivery and staffing models to support healthy growth.
The Role
As Director of Operations & Revenue, you’ll manage several aspects of Matic - owning delivery operations, resource planning, and revenue visibility. You’ll play a vital role in translating our project pipeline and client demands into a high-functioning, lean and profitable operation.
This role blends strategic thinking with operational rigor - ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys driving clarity, process, and performance across a multi-skilled team.
What You'll Do
Resourcing & Delivery Operations
- Own and maintain a live resource map across full-time and contract staff
- Match project needs to the right roles, skills, and experience levels—balancing internal vs. external needs
- Track utilization and capacity to ensure we’re hitting timelines and staying profitable
- Jump in to support PMs and delivery leads when needed to model best practices or help drive momentum
- Support individual team contributors with guidance and collaborative problem solving
Revenue Planning & Performance
- Align staffing and delivery plans with revenue targets and margin expectations
- Partner with finance to track monthly and quarterly performance, billing, and profitability
- Identify underperforming areas or delivery gaps and implement strategic improvements
- Support client growth opportunities and account expansion through operational readiness
Process & Tools
- Build and maintain SOPs across delivery, project management, and reporting
- Improve time tracking, forecasting, and team planning across projects and service lines
- Drive consistent adoption of tools like Asana, Harvest, Notion, and other internal systems
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support marketing operations and performance tracking
- Collaborate with sales to ensure smooth handoff from pitch to delivery
- Occasionally represent Matic with clients to help stand up new projects or fill short-term delivery gaps
Team Leadership
- Partner on hiring plans and talent development across key functions
- Help define team structures, reporting, and accountability models
- Contribute to a positive, proactive culture built on transparency, ownership, and excellence
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- Increased team utilization and better alignment between scope and staffing
- Reduced dependency on contractors through proactive internal planning
- Improved profit margins on projects through tighter delivery oversight
- Operational standards and repeatable processes in place across service lines
- Strengthened rhythm between delivery, sales, and marketing - shortening the lead-to-live timeline
What We’re Looking For
- 7–12 years experience in agency, consulting, or services-based business operations
- Proven track record in capacity planning, resourcing, and revenue alignment
- Strong understanding of digital project delivery (web, strategy, creative, software)
- Clear communicator who can lead cross-functional conversations and drive action
- High ownership mentality—someone who sees blockers and fixes them without waiting
- Bonus: Experience in business development, marketing and project management
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $120,000/year
- Profit Share Bonus: Quarterly profit-based bonus for director-level roles (not guaranteed, tied to business performance benchmarks)
- PTO: Flexible, responsible time-off policy
- Health & Dental Insurance: Available through United Healthcare
- 401(k): Safe Harbor match through Guideline (100% of first 3%, 50% of next 2%)
