Director of Public and Governmental Affairs
Donor Alliance is looking to hire a mission-focused Director of Public & Governmental Affairs! The Director of Public and Governmental Affairs is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing Donor Alliance’s public policy agenda in support of our mission to save lives through organ and tissue donation. This role serves as the organization’s primary liaison with government officials, regulatory agencies, and national partners. The Director will influence legislative and regulatory initiatives that impact donation and transplantation at the local, state, and federal levels. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and other departments to advance organizational goals, reputation management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative standards.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with elected officials on local and federal levels, to advance the mission of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on public policy issues that impact organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
- Act as a spokesperson, including creation of content, messaging, and professional documentation around organizational challenges and goals.
- Creation of strategic communication and plans around internal/external messaging and provide guidance around risk management
- Partner closely with executive leadership and the pr/communications department on organizational objectives
- Occasional travel across Donor Alliance’s designated service area (CO & WY), as well as occasional meetings with representatives in Washington, D.C.

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience working within public affairs, public policy, communications, political science or related field
- Previous leadership experience.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Proven track record of influencing public policy and regulatory outcomes.
- Ability to create consistent, effective communication strategies

- $127,495-159,369 annually
- Non-exempt- eligible for overtime
