Overview
We are seeking a Dish/Prep person to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with experience in the food industry. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in food preparation and ensuring that meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in meal preparation for catering events and special functions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff as needed.
- Assist in the development of new menu items and specials.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or as a cook is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation.
- Experience in catering or working within a dietary department is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
