Overview
The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment in a restaurant or banquet setting. This position is essential for supporting food service operations by ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. A successful Dishwasher will contribute to a positive dining experience for guests by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. Dishwasher will need to learn how to prep and prepare food for kitchen cook and hibachi chefs
Duties
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area by sweeping and mopping floors as needed.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients to support kitchen staff.
- Help with bussing tables by clearing away dirty dishes and utensils promptly after guests finish their meals.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized for efficient use during busy service times.
- Follow food safety guidelines for food handling and sanitation to ensure a safe working environment.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen manager promptly.
Skills
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of proper food handling techniques and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist other kitchen staff as needed.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as necessary.
