Our company is currently seeking an EXPERIENCED individual to fill an IMMEDIATE opening for a Dispatcher - Liquids (Emergency and Non-Emergency Water/Wastewater Services) in Houston, TX.

The Dispatcher is responsible for overseeing the execution of the current day’s planned Liquids activity. This includes monitoring driver progress, staying ahead of operational issues, making real-time adjustments as needed, and ensuring clear communication with the field, office, and customers. The primary focus of this role is successful same-day execution of the plan developed by the Logistics Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Execution
- Monitor the day's routes and driver activity in real time; adjust plans proactively based on conditions in the field.
- Act as the first point of contact for all Liquid drivers throughout the day.
- Notify the Logistics Coordinator of same-day emergencies and work together to identify the best solution; ensure drivers are prepared and customers are kept informed.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the Logistics Coordinator's daily and weekly plan to ensure proper execution, alerting the Logistics Coordinator of any service disruptions that could affect future scheduling.
- Minimize service failures and maximize productivity while reinforcing DOT-compliant and safe driving practices.
- Update task boards, excel docs, service notes, filemaker calendar and other shared systems with real-time changes and outcomes.
Communication & Coordination
- Direct all inbound phone traffic to the correct department quickly and professionally.
- Identify and resolve daily driver issues (e.g., blocked access, can’t find location) and escalate when needed (off-route activity, safety violations) to the Operations Manager and Logistics Coordinator.
- Notify the Logistics Coordinator of any customer-related concerns and participate in determining the appropriate response.
Documentation & Reporting
- · Review, verify, and organize, and log all driver paperwork before it is handed off to billing. Ensuring accruing and prompt delivery using standardized reporting methods.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Who You Are
- Must have experience in dispatching & routing trucks for a service company
- Experience with “milk run/multi stop routing” is a plus
- Must be highly detail-oriented and organized
- Must have good communication skill
- Ability to maintain composure in dealing with customers, clients, executives, and staff, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
- Working knowledge/familiarity of DOT rules and regulations
- Working knowledge of office administration practices and the ability to use standard office equipment – including a computer, scanner, copiers, fax machine, and phone system
- Self-motivated and the ability to work independently, determining priorities and managing the workload
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
- Able to quickly troubleshoot problems
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be highly detail-oriented and organized
