DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION COORDINATOR

The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) seeks a highly motivated individual to support initiatives and matters related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and racial justice impacting AGO employees and the communities we serve.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Chief of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to strategically support and advance the office’s DEI initiatives. This role involves assisting in the execution and coordination of key programs, promoting an inclusive workplace culture, and furthering the organization’s DEI objectives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and oversee internal Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) events, including monthly cultural celebrations and book clubs.
- Support and coordinate large-scale internal programs, such as the ‘Buddy Program’ for new hires, mentorship initiatives, culture-building activities, workshops, and other employee engagement efforts.
- Assist with the administration of the office’s hiring practices, including participation in hiring panels for various recruiting needs.
- Assist in the development and coordination of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
- Conduct comprehensive research on DEIA topics, emerging trends, and best practices to inform the development of internal programs and strategic decision-making.
- Oversee office-wide DEI communications such as the weekly newsletter and internal website.
- Collaborate with the team to manage the day-to-day operations of programs and projects that provide ongoing learning and educational opportunities within the office. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required; experience in social and racial justice and/or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) roles preferred.
- Experience providing administrative support in a DEI office or similar setting.
- Demonstrated interest in public interest work and commitment to promoting an inclusive workplace culture.
- Excellent organizational, follow-up, and time management skills, with keen attention to details.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently, adapt easily, and think creatively.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with various constituencies both verbally and in writing.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Canva, and other project management tools).
- Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, and cultural sensitivity and awareness. Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

Position Type : Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office.
Salary : $58,782.00
