We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling and care, with a focus on training dogs of various breeds and temperaments. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as you will be working closely with pet owners to ensure their dogs receive the best training possible.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective training programs tailored to individual dog needs.
- Conduct group and private training sessions, ensuring a positive learning environment.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors in dogs.
- Assess each dog's behavior and progress, providing feedback to owners on training techniques.
- Maintain a safe and clean training environment for both dogs and their owners.
- Provide guidance on proper animal care practices, including grooming and health maintenance.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance training methods and share best practices.
- Assist with pet grooming or care as needed, ensuring the well-being of all animals.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dog training or a related field such as veterinary assistance or animal care.
- Strong skills in animal handling, restraint, and behavior assessment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs).
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques is a plus.
- Certification in dog training or related qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 26 – 32 per week
