Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care and exercise for dogs of all breeds and sizes. This role involves walking dogs in various environments, ensuring their safety, well-being, and enjoyment during each outing. The Dog Walker will be responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with both the pets and their owners.

What We’re Looking For:
- Primary Availability: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Additional Availability: Weekend and evening shifts are a big plus
Duties
- Walk dogs in a safe and controlled manner, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Ensure that each dog receives adequate exercise tailored to their individual needs.
- Monitor the behavior and health of dogs during walks, reporting any concerns to pet owners.
- Maintain proper handling techniques to manage dogs effectively, especially in high-stress situations.
- Clean up after dogs during walks to maintain a clean environment.
- Provide basic training commands as needed to reinforce good behavior.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and any observations made during walks.
- Assist with additional animal care tasks as required, including feeding or administering medication if necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience in dog handling or animal care is preferred; qualifications such as dog training or veterinary assistant experience are a plus.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and effective handling techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., assisting larger breeds).
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices is advantageous.
- Previous experience as a veterinary technician or in an animal care setting is beneficial.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to build rapport with both pets and their owners.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care is essential.
