Job description
The Domestic Violence Shelter Manager will provide day-to-day management of the shelter including daily living scheduling, oversight of donations and food shopping.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment where victims can heal
- Orient new clients to the program and facility
- Complete bed bug protocol with new clients
- Ensure facilities are ready for new clients
- Address any needs of residents
- Enforce program guidelines to ensure a safe and secure environment
- Answer hotline calls as needed
- Conducts Room checks
- Enforces rules and regulations of the residence
- Monitor facility and coordinate repairs as needed
- Assign weekly chores and assist in skill building
- Provide ongoing information during staffing regarding individual issues and concerns
- Maintain a supportive, professional relationship with all staff and volunteers
- Participate in PQI activities as requested
Shift: Part time- Sunday 9am-Monday 9am. 5 hours of rest during the shift, every other weekend.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- The Shelter Manager will have a minimum High School Diploma, with some college preferred.
- Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, non-profit or shelter settings preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license, driver's insurance and pass all background checks
- Will be required to live on site and have separate living space
