```Job Summary```
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Scientist to support the downstream process development for advancing genetic medicines . This role is ideal for individuals passionate about contributing to life-changing therapies and who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Chromatography column packing, ÄKTA skid maintenance, and FPLC method operation
- TFF skid assembly, sanitization, and operation
- Ultracentrifuge tube preparation and harvest
- TECAN high-throughput system method setup and execution
- Sampling and analysis on DSPD analytical equipment (e.g. SoloVPE, LAL endotoxin assay, Stunner)
- Buffer and formulation recipe development and preparation
- Ordering, stocking, and organization of DSPD-specific laboratory supplies
- Coordination of external sample shipments with laboratory operations group
- Coordination with other departments and outside vendors for repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance of DSPD equipment and systems
- Entry of experimental results into electronic laboratory notebook systems
Basic Qualifications:
- University degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering)
- Previous basic laboratory experience (pipetting, BSL-1 safety, peristaltic pumps, aseptic technique)
- Experience with Microsoft Office software suite (esp. Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Excellent writing (documentation), communication, organizational skills
- Comfortable and capable working independently in laboratory setting
- Strong desire to learn and grow PD skillset through problem solving together with team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with ÄKTA skids, TFF systems, and/or TECAN systems
- Direct experience preparing buffer solutions, developing buffer formulation recipes
- Direct experience with both centrifuge and ultracentrifuge systems
- Direct experience with low endotoxin /sterile processing (in addition to aseptic technique)
