Job is in Morrow, OH
We are hiring immediately for an experienced DSP who is medication certified category 2. We would need the candidate to have the DSP certification, medical certification, valid drivers license and car insurance. This position is subject to a background check prior to starting.
We would need you to Medication Certified Category 2 as the Client does have a G-Tube
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Your primary focus will be to enhance the quality of life for those you serve by assisting them with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' health status.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help clients engage in social activities and community outings to promote socialization.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
- Perform patient observation to identify any changes in behavior or condition that may require attention.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used for safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
Skills
- Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and understanding basic health indicators.
- Experience in home care settings, including hospice care or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Strong patient observation skills to recognize changes in physical or emotional well-being.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client assistance.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Empathy and compassion towards individuals with disabilities or special needs.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
