Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring assistance in daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care, ensuring their safety, dignity, and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and monitoring to ensure the well-being of individuals in various settings such as group homes, assisted living facilities, and in-home care.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Observe and document changes in clients' conditions, reporting any concerns to appropriate staff or family members.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall quality of life for clients.
Skills
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Experience working in group homes or assisted living environments is highly desirable.
- Strong patient observation skills to monitor health status effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility challenges.
- Knowledge of caregiving practices including meal preparation, personal hygiene assistance, and vital sign monitoring.
- Familiarity with home health care procedures and hospice care principles is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
