Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Opener to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our establishment is ready for service, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. This role requires a passion for the food industry and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Operate Aloha POS or Micros POS systems for order processing and cash handling.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Assist in upselling menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to sanitation guidelines.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Conduct regular checks on food inventory and assist with stocking supplies as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within a quick service or fast food restaurant setting.
- Familiarity with Aloha POS or Micros POS systems is highly desirable.
- Strong culinary skills with an understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Ability to engage customers with strong sales techniques, including upselling strategies.
- Proficient in basic math for accurate cash handling and retail math applications.
- Previous experience in cashiering, serving, or bussing within the food service industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and food handling procedures is essential.
