OVERVIEW
The Early Care & Education (ECE) Mentor Coach Specialist provides on-going mentoring and coaching for Infant/Toddler and/or Preschool teaching staff to promote teaching practices that lead to positive outcomes for children. Ensure that teachers can successfully implement the assigned curriculum and recommended practices. Provides new employee training, overall support, and follow-up with individual teachers as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications: B achelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a qualified related field. Experience working with children ages birth to five and in-depth knowledge of child development and early childhood curricula. Computer expertise including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet usage. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to monitor and prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: IECE teacher certification. Reliability certification on the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) instrument. Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations, and early childhood certification and credentialing. Familiarity with Child Plus Data Management system. Two or more years of experience in a Head Start or other early childhood development program.
Other Required Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication and human relations skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
