Objective
As a teacher, your role involves supporting the Academy Director in planning and conducting classroom activities, fostering clear communication with staff and parents, and ensuring a safe learning environment. You're expected to exemplify Christ-like behavior for the children. Success in this role requires patience, compassion, and energy to guide a diverse group of young learners effectively. The Early Childhood Center is our 8-week-old and one-year-old classrooms.

Essential Functions:
- Models spiritual maturity in leading students towards Christ and spiritual growth.
- Planning and delivering lessons designed to facilitate students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Tend to students' basic needs, including but not limited to changing diapers and assisting in the bathroom.
- Assist in the successful resolution of conflicts among students, including but not limited to:
o Redirecting behavior when needed
o Encourage playing together and sharing
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, modeling professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, coworkers, parents, peers, and members of the community both professionally and personally.
- Ensuring that the classroom remains safe, clean, and conducive to learning and caring for children.
- Track and inform parents of their child’s progress and daily activities, including, but not limited to, feedings, diaper changes, naps, etc.
- Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in the classrooms.
- Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, children and parents.
- Manage classroom activities, including lessons, play, breaks, and meals.
- Assist children in achieving developmental milestones.
- Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills.
- Diligently supervise children and be vigilant for any signs of bullying, hostile behavior, or abuse of any kind.
- Maintain inventory system for classroom materials and supplies.
- Update necessary records, including attendance, accurately.
- Facilitate various activities for children, including prayers, pledges, songs, games, and storytelling.
- Regularly communicates essential information to the Academy Director concerning student progress and requirements.
- Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures including but not limited to:
- Sanitize surfaces, toys, and equipment
- Vacuum and sweep floor
- Trash removal
- Assist other staff members when needed.
- Adhere to church policies regarding the facility and its use.
- Follow attendance policy and attend any required training or Academy events.
- Attend and participate in orientation days, staff in-services, and special events as needed.
· Facilitate curriculum, craft, or any additional resources for children that pertain to the learning lessons or Bible lessons.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license, pass a criminal background check, and non-dot drug test.
- Education degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be punctual in arriving on time and ready to start the day.
- Maintain a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with the Employee Handbook.
- Be proficient in biblical knowledge and principles and able to clearly articulate a comprehensive, consistent, and demonstrable biblical worldview as it relates to teaching and learning;
- Prior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar setting.
- Basic first aid training and CPR certification are advantageous.
- Must have a warm, approachable disposition.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be discreet in dealing with confidential matters and materials.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English effectively.
- Confidentiality of personal, student, coworker, and church information is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions - This position encompasses indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. It necessitates the capacity for prolonged sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and flexible movement. Occasionally, lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required. Proficiency in operating a computer, phone system, and other office equipment is necessary.
Expected Hours of Work - Days and hours of Resurrection Academy are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5:30 pm. You must be able to work within these times of operation.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.11 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
