Early Intervention Service Coordinator

A full-time, non-exempt position with primary working hours of Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm (37.5 hours/week). Guaranteed hourly rate increase at 12 months of service. Paid training provided.


A service coordinator shall have one of the following groups of minimum qualifications:



(1) A bachelor's degree from an accredited college which includes 12 credits in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education, family counseling, family studies, social welfare, psychology, or other comparable social sciences, and 1 year of full-time or full-time equivalent experience working with or providing counseling to children, families, or individuals with disabilities, required; OR


(2) An associate degree, or 60 credit hours, from an accredited college or university in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education, family counseling, family studies, social welfare, psychology, or other comparable social sciences, and 3 years of full-time or full-time equivalent experience working with or providing counseling to children, families, or individuals with disabilities, required; OR



(3) Certification by the Pennsylvania Civil Service commission as meeting the qualifications of a Caseworker 2 or 3 classifications.

Services Provided through the Early Intervention Program:


  • Early Intervention Service Coordination services are designed to assist families with infants and toddlers from birth to three years of age who have developmental delays or disabilities
  • Our goal is to develop an effective strategy of care through resources and therapeutic providers to enhance the natural learning that occurs in a child?s early years
  • Completes intakes and is responsible to document and track the delivery of services identified on the child?s IFSP and evaluate the extent to which these services meet the family?s identified priorities
  • Monitors the identified needs of the family and assists with community referrals as needed
  • Maintains service coordination Casemanagement records which consist of, but is not limited to, all documentation of contacts with the family and service providers, MDE/IFSP?s, any documents relative to HIPAA, outside agency correspondence and medical information. Documentation of information, including MDE, IFSP, and services in the Pelican database.
