Compensation: The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $60,000 to 65,000.

The Ideal Candidate:

A creative and technically proficient video editor with expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro who can craft engaging digital content under tight deadlines. You have a strong understanding of current editing techniques, video trends, and social media culture. Your ability to work both collaboratively and independently allows you to deliver high-quality content while maintaining the standards of one of the premier sports brands around the globe.

The Top Shelf:

The Editor will own the bulk of digital video output for the Chicago Blackhawks, from planning and editing to delivering assets to stakeholders. This role requires someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, highly creative environment while maintaining exceptional production values across all digital platforms. You'll create compelling content for planned projects and react quickly to trending topics and game-day coverage, ensuring the Blackhawks brand remains at the forefront of digital media in sports.

How You'll Contribute:

Content Creation & Production

• Edit both long-form and short-form content primarily for digital platforms, with potential for linear distribution
• Create compelling content for scheduled projects while also handling spur-of-the-moment assignments
• Ensure high production values and standards are maintained across all platforms
• Provide remote editing coverage of Blackhawks games
• Identify trending social media content and produce relevant edits that encapsulate those trends on a weekly basis
• Apply general sound design and color correction to enhance video quality
  
  

Technical Expertise & Innovation

• Utilize expert-level knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and working understanding of After Effects and Photoshop
• Maintain proficiency in HD workflow and current editing software
• Participate in the upkeep and ideation of new editing equipment or software that would help elevate the brand
• Apply latest editing techniques to keep content fresh and engaging
• Experience shooting with modern DSLR video cameras (a plus)

• Work comfortably with multiple stakeholders while maintaining creative vision
• Meet assigned deadlines with excellent time management
• Remain receptive to notes and feedback throughout the editing process
• Apply knowledge in social media analytics and content performance to optimize future content (a plus)

Player Stats & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years editing experience or demonstrable equivalent of short-form and long-form content across Social Media , Broadcast, or another distribution platform
• Portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of latest editing techniques and video trends
• High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar editing software) with a working understanding of After Effects and Photoshop
• Proficiency in motion graphics (a plus)
• Hardworking, focused, and creative with a proactive approach
• Receptive to notes and feedback throughout the editing process
• Excellent time management while meeting assigned deadlines
• A passion for or knowledge of the Chicago Blackhawks/hockey at large
• Adaptable to fast-paced work environment and changing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output
