Summary:
Education Specialist position is responsible for maximizing staff training and development. Essential Duties & Responsibilities •Develops, implements, and maintains training programs for Marsh Regional Blood Center that adhere to accepted industry practices and comply with AABB, CLIA standards, and FDA regulations. •Oversees and participates in the orientation and training of newly hired staff members and oversite of all department training, documentation, and competency tracking. •Provides oversite of the Emergency Management Planning for Marsh Regional Blood Center. •Performs competency/certification/licensure requirements of staff. •Participates in policy and procedure review as requested by Leadership. •Partners in organizational development with the Quality Specialist as requested by Leadership. •Directs, plans, and schedules the clinical training program for colleges and high schools. •Involved in the development and deployment of staff performance plans as requested by Leadership. •Participates in inspection preparation and response. •Attends all department staff meetings. •Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B.S.) from four-year college or university. Experience with blood bank operations and knowledge of regulations and applicable industry standards a plus. The candidate must possess excellent written, oral, presentation, and computer skills. This role will require a strong professional presence and concise communication. Knowledge in delivering training programs using a variety of educational modalities, including web-based and classroom presentations/program,is desired. Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office.
