Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Electrical Inspector to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the inspection and the quality checking of the jointing and termination works of the onshore cables and connection equipment. Also, the candidate will conduct inspections of cable systems at each offshore location using the designated inspection reporting tool . Also, she/he will witness VLF, sheath and OTDR testing, as well as other cable or termination test that might be required. Candidate will also help ensuring that the contractor prepares and delivers a complete documentation of the works and services carried out according to the agreed RAMS. The Electrical Inspector will play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards on construction in our customer offshore wind project.
Responsibilities
- QA/QC inspections of termination work
- Daily progress report to the Export Cable Technical Scope Manager
- Contractor program/contractor's daily progress reporting review
- Project documentation according to project records management
- Permit to Work requests (e.g. Safety Rules)
- Availability of SAP's for switching activities
- Ensure cable testing activities are carried out in due time, including availability of necessary test equipment.
- Handover Certification
- Collect weather data
- QA/QC inspections incl. punch list and follow up
- Non-Conformance/Damage Defect Notifications to cable engineer
- Cable installation contractor interfaces
- WTG, FOU and OSS Package interfaces – where relevant
- End of shift passing over report
- Review testing documentation and check compliancy with testing requirements.

- Various scope related reports and memos
- On-Site Technical Recommendations
- Minutes of meetings with Contractors
- Input Technical Lessons Learned to the Project Engineer
- Relevant Jointing and Termination documentation archived in record management system
Decision authority / Responsibility:
- Can recommend project changes (time, economy, quality) to the Export Cable Project Engineer and the Export Cable Technical Scope Manager
Qualification / Requirements Mandatory:
- Driver’s License,
- First Aid Course
Qualification / Requirements Desirable:
- HV/MV Jointing training or experience
- VLF testing training or experience
- OTDR testing training or experience
- Safe Work in High Voltage Substation Environments and Safe Work in Low Voltage Substation Environments
Skills:
- HV/MV cable jointing/termination, cable ladder/cleating systems, subsea cable hang off systems, earthing and bonding of cable systems, CDM regulations 2015 and preferably experience with Orsted IT tools/procedures.
Schedule: Mon-Fri + ad hoc work when needed, subject to communication from OIM. 10 hours a day. 3 weeks on and 1 week off.
